# Jacob’s Ladder

Jacob’s Ladder is an American self-powered climbing machine. The angle and the rungs are the product. There is often no mains motor.

Chains, rungs and bearings are the parts. Do not order a treadmill incline motor because the machine slopes.

## Parts that come back

- **Chain or strap.** On a rower or air bike, write the connector at the handle as well as the chain. That is where it frays.
- **Console and board.** Photograph the error code before anyone resets it. The board number is on a sticker, not in the member’s description.
- **Bearing.** Record the size from the old bearing. Spraying a noisy pivot until it is quiet hides the play.
