The cost of a stop is not only the part

People compare the price of a belt with the price of a new treadmill and think they have done the analysis. The missing piece is how long members could not use it, and how often this frame has already stopped.

You do not need a made-up hourly value of a member. You need the downtime next to the invoice, on the same asset, so a person can read them together. Three stops this quarter for the same belt path is a pattern. One stop is an event.

Do not hide the small invoices

Small parts that recur are the ones the file forgets if you only file “big” jobs. Put them on the job anyway. The pattern is the sum, not the single receipt.

A stop you chose for safety is not a failure of the report. It is the report working. The cost conversation comes after the machine is safe, not instead of closing it.
