A rating is a signal, not a work order

Stars tell you someone was unhappy. They do not tell you which bolt to turn, or whether the machine should be closed.
A rating on the public page is useful the way a comment card is useful. It says the experience was poor, fine, or good. It does not describe a job.
Do not let a low rating open a repair by itself. Read it. If there is a sentence or a photo, you may already have a fault. If there is only a score, you have a prompt to look at the machine on the next walk, not a technician’s task.
Where ratings mislead
One angry score after a busy class can be a queue, a dirty pad, or a real fault. The register cannot know which until someone looks. Several low scores on the same asset in a week are a stronger signal than one.
Do not publish a reply that argues with the member on the public page. If you need to respond, do it as a person. The page stays a status and a way to report.
Keep ratings off the work order’s cost line. Feelings are not parts.

A rig left as the last workout set it is a different machine. The closer puts it back and notes what broke.
Find the model and serial number on gym equipment
The model and serial are on a plate on the frame or inside the console bay. Photograph them. If the plate is gone, say so. Do not invent a number.
