Benches and racks fail at pins, feet, and welds

A rack is quiet until a pin does not seat or a foot rocks. Those are the checks, not the upholstery.
Look at the pin first. It should seat fully and come out cleanly. A pin that needs a hammer is a fault. A missing pin takes the bench out of service, even if the rest of the bench is fine.
Feet and anchors next. A bench that walks across the floor during a set is not a technique issue to ignore. Rock in a rack upright is a safety fault.
Welds and padding
A cracked weld is out of service until someone competent says otherwise. Torn padding is usually comfort, unless the tear exposes a sharp edge or lets the user slide off the support.
Number the benches. “The flat bench” is not an asset when you have six. Put the code somewhere a chalky hand will not erase in a week.
When you move a rack, re-check the anchors the same day. A move without that check is how a safe rack becomes a rocking one overnight.

Feet, shrouds, console leads, and anchors shift in a move. Check them the same day, on the same asset.
