Photograph the fail, not the whole gym

An inspection photo is useful when it shows the defect and which machine. A panorama of the floor is a postcard.
You do not need a photo of every pass. You need a photo when a fail would otherwise be argued, or when the defect is easier to see than to describe: a fray, a crack, a belt position, a blocked stop.
Stand so the machine’s code or a known feature is in frame, then a closer frame of the defect. Two photos. Not twenty.
Keep them with the result
The photo lives on the inspection or the fault it created. A chat image will not be there when someone asks what last March looked like.
Do not photograph members to prove a machine was busy. That is not an inspection, and it is not your record to collect.
If the fail is a smell or a trip of a breaker, say so, and do not fake a photo of a normal panel. Words are the right evidence when there is nothing to see.

Feet, shrouds, console leads, and anchors shift in a move. Check them the same day, on the same asset.

Black dust under a treadmill is not only dirt. It is the belt or the deck telling you they are wearing.
