Rain and mud arrive on the first machines

The bikes and treadmills nearest the door take the water. Their faults are often the entrance, not the brand.
On wet days the first machines inside the door collect grit and water. Pedals gum, decks see more dirt, and metal at floor level starts to mark. Treat that as a known condition of those assets, not as a series of unrelated failures.
Mats and a place to shed water are operational. If they are missing, write it on the zone. Replacing pedals every winter without mentioning the door is how you buy the same part forever.
What to record
Which assets sit in the splash zone. Whether this week’s fault is grit, rust, or a true mechanical failure. A photo of a rusty foot next to a dry one further in makes the pattern obvious.
Do not lower the safety standard because “it’s always wet there”. A slippery step off a treadmill is still a reason to look at the floor and the machine together.
When summer dries the entrance, note what recovered and what did not. The permanent rust is the one to plan for.
Lies weider
After a move, assume something loosened
Feet, shrouds, console leads, and anchors shift in a move. Check them the same day, on the same asset.
Belt dust is a maintenance clue
Black dust under a treadmill is not only dirt. It is the belt or the deck telling you they are wearing.
Rowing machine maintenance
Service the chain or strap, the rail, and the handle connection. An air rower, a water rower, and a dynamic erg are not the same parts.
