Bowflex

Bowflex is an American home-gym brand, part of the Nautilus business. Rods, cables and select-tech dumbbells are different products under one name.

A power rod is not a cable, and a SelectTech dumbbell is not the home gym. Give each its own file if you maintain them. The model is on the unit, not in the advert.

Parts to write on the job

• Cable

  Write which run you replaced, and whether the rest of the cable stayed. A visible fray is not the whole cable.

• Pulley

  Note the diameter and whether the bearing is in the pulley. A squeal can be the cable, not the wheel.

• Upholstery

  Photograph the pad and name the machine. Recovering ‘the blue one’ is how the wrong bench is sent out.

• Console and board

  Photograph the error code before anyone resets it. The board number is on a sticker, not in the member’s description.
